What Lessons Are Like
I provide a friendly and supportive learning environment. Learning the piano should be fun and one should never feel stressed about anything. I am a very patient teacher and I love watching a student grow. Lessons are conducted on my Kawai studio piano. The discipline and perseverance required to learn the piano magnifies the feeling of accomplishment you feel when you play a piece of music well and with confidence. It’s my goal for all my students to have this feeling of accomplishment. I will guide and mentor my students to:
- Get enjoyment from the music making process
- Set realistic learning goals
- Define a plan to achieve your goals
- Track progress and identify performance aspects to improve
- Overcome stumbling blocks in performance and music theory
- Make efficient use of our limited lesson time and your practice time
- Learn correct fingering technique
- Learn note reading
- Learn proper hand position
- Recognize notes and associate pitches
- Perform! I have 2 recitals a year (recommended but certainly not required)
